Yes, We Accept BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee
Restoration Recovery is in-network with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee for medication-assisted treatment (MAT), counseling, and related addiction recovery services at all four of our outpatient clinics across Tennessee and Georgia. If you have BCBS coverage, you can use your plan to access Suboxone, Sublocade, or Brixadi — along with counseling and follow-up care — at our Chattanooga, Cleveland, Soddy-Daisy, or Ringgold (GA) locations.
Our intake team verifies your specific BCBS of Tennessee benefits before your first visit so you know your copay and deductible status up front.
What’s Covered Under BCBS for MAT
BCBS plans that cover addiction treatment generally cover the full continuum of care we offer:
- Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone): daily film or tablet prescription. This is the most common MAT medication and the one most BCBS plans cover with a generic-tier copay.
- Sublocade (monthly buprenorphine injection): administered at our clinic. Most BCBS plans cover it, though some require prior authorization because of the higher per-injection cost.
- Brixadi (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly buprenorphine injection): similar coverage picture to Sublocade; prior authorization may be needed depending on plan.
- Vivitrol (monthly naltrexone injection): for alcohol use disorder. Covered by BCBS plans that cover SUD treatment.
- Individual counseling and certified peer support: as part of your treatment plan.
- Group IOP (intensive outpatient programming): structured group-based care for patients who benefit from a higher level of support.
- Telehealth: secure video visits for medication management and counseling follow-up, typically covered at the same rate as in-person visits.
- Behavioral health: psychiatric medication management and coordinated care for anxiety, depression, and co-occurring conditions.
Typical Cost and Copay
Typical BCBS of Tennessee out-of-pocket costs for MAT: $20–$50 specialist copay per office visit, and $5–$25 per month for generic buprenorphine/naloxone at the pharmacy. Exact copays depend on your specific plan tier (Bronze / Silver / Gold / Platinum on the individual marketplace, or your employer’s benefit design). High-deductible plans may mean higher out-of-pocket until the deductible is met.
Exact out-of-pocket cost depends on your specific BCBS plan, deductible status, and whether any prior-authorization requirements apply. Our patient services team verifies your benefits before your first visit so you know what to expect. Most BCBS patients find the real cost substantially lower than they expect.
Common BCBS TN plan families we see: Network P, Network S, PPO, POS, and various ACA marketplace plans. Any of these typically work for MAT coverage at our clinics.
Prior Authorization
BCBS of Tennessee typically requires prior authorization for Sublocade and Brixadi injections because of the higher per-dose cost. Brand-name Suboxone sometimes requires prior auth if generic buprenorphine/naloxone is the plan’s preferred option. Daily generic Suboxone typically does not require prior auth. Our intake team handles all prior-auth paperwork directly with BCBS; it usually clears within a few business days.
How We Verify Your BCBS Benefits
When you call us at 423-498-2000 or submit a contact request, here is what the intake process looks like:
- We collect your BCBS information. Member ID, plan name, and date of birth — the same info that’s on your insurance card.
- Our team calls BCBS directly to verify your benefits for MAT, counseling, and IOP.
- We confirm back to you — usually within one business day — what your copay, deductible status, and any prior-authorization requirements look like.
- You schedule your first visit with confidence in what it will cost. No surprise bills.
Four Clinic Locations
We operate four outpatient clinics across Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia. BCBS coverage is accepted at all of them:
- Chattanooga, TN: 6141 Shallowford Rd, Suite 100 — Monday through Friday.
- Cleveland, TN: 2130 Chambliss Avenue NW — Tuesday and Thursday.
- Soddy-Daisy, TN: 210 Walmart Drive, Suite 100 — Monday and Wednesday.
- Ringgold, GA: 4962 Battlefield Pkwy — Friday.
Telehealth follow-up visits are available for established patients at all four locations, covered by BCBS at the same rate as in-person visits in most cases.
How to Start
Same-week appointments are typically available at all four clinic locations. To begin:
- Call 423-498-2000 or submit a contact request.
- Have your BCBS insurance card handy for verification.
- Tell our intake team you’d like to schedule an evaluation for Suboxone / MAT / counseling, and note what clinic location works best.
- We verify your benefits, confirm any prior-auth steps, and schedule your first visit — usually within the same week.
Your first visit lasts 60–120 minutes and follows a standard clinical flow: intake (DSM-5 assessment, COWS score if applicable), a counselor conversation, and time with a medical provider. If clinically appropriate, you can leave with a same-day Suboxone prescription. For the full walkthrough, see our first-visit guide.
BCBS TN vs. Out-of-State BCBS
BlueCross BlueShield is a federation of 30+ independent Blue plans across the country, and your coverage specifics depend on which Blue plan issued your card. BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is the Tennessee-specific plan and is what most Tennessee residents carry. We’re in-network with BCBS of Tennessee directly.
If you carry BlueCross BlueShield from another state (e.g., BCBS of Alabama, BCBS Anthem, etc.) through the BlueCard program, coverage is typically still available at in-network rates, but your benefit specifics follow your home-state plan’s rules. Our intake team will verify the specifics when you call.
BCBS Employer Plans vs. Marketplace Plans
If your BCBS coverage is through your employer (a group plan), your benefit design was negotiated by your employer’s HR team, and copays can vary widely between plans at the same carrier. If your BCBS coverage is through the ACA healthcare.gov marketplace, the metal tier (Bronze / Silver / Gold / Platinum) determines your cost-sharing structure. We’ll pull your specific benefits at verification.
